Earth Hour 2012 Message
As the hour approached, the audience was enjoying the festivities so much they didn’t even notice City Hall went dark, the symbolic City of Barrie arch went dark and Barrie Earth Hour Music Festival reduced consumption even further. Earth Hour had begun! The message was clear. You don’t need to sit in the dark, light a candle or even change your lifestyle. It’s about change, change for the better! If a concert of this magnitude can be zero carbon and eco-friendly and then reduce energy consumption even more without notice, then EVERYONE can embrace the practice of conservation. Turn off non-essentials every hour, every day and make a difference, one person at a time.

What is Earth Hour?
Earth Hour is a global climate change initiative run by the World Wildlife Fund (WWF). The WWF is calling on individuals and businesses to turn off non-essential lighting for one hour on Saturday, March 31st, 2012 between 8:30 p.m. and 9:30 p.m.
